1. Who controls the data
Photo Timestamp is operated by Makerming, an individual developer. This policy applies to the website at timestamp.fit and explains what information is processed when you use it. The site does not currently appoint a separate data protection officer.
2. What we collect
Photos and EXIF data: selected image files, thumbnails, EXIF metadata, and working dates are read and processed locally by your browser. The editor does not upload your selected photos or their pixels to our server. Temporary browser object URLs exist only while the page is open and are released when the session is cleared or closed.
Technical data: the browser, hosting infrastructure, or security logs may process ordinary request data such as IP address, time, URL, user agent, and error information when a page or library is requested. The free editor does not require an account or store a cloud photo library. If you create an account for Pro, we store your account identity, login sessions, purchase references, and access period; no photo files or EXIF data are stored with your account.
Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymization enabled to understand aggregate site usage. GA4 loads by default based on our legitimate interest in improving the service. It processes usage and device metadata under Google’s policies and does not receive selected images or image pixels. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Payments: the current site displays voluntary Alipay and WeChat Pay support QR images. Pro purchases use a Waffo Pancake hosted checkout. Waffo processes payment details under its policies; our server receives verified order events and stores purchase references and Pro access periods. We do not collect card numbers.
3. How information is used
| Purpose | Basis / reason |
|---|---|
| Render previews, read dates, process files, and create downloads | To provide the feature you requested |
| Maintain security, reliability, and error handling | Legitimate operational interest |
| Measure site usage with GA4 (IP anonymized) | Legitimate interest in improving the service; you can opt out via browser settings or the Google opt-out add-on |
| Meet legal obligations or respond to lawful requests | Legal obligation |
We do not sell personal information and do not use your photos to train an AI model.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses strictly necessary browser mechanisms to display pages and create local downloads. GA4 sets its own cookies for usage measurement with IP anonymization enabled. You can block or clear cookies at any time via your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Sharing and international transfers
We do not share photo files with third parties. Google processes GA4 usage data as our analytics provider under its own privacy policy. Static hosting, content delivery, or library providers may process ordinary request data needed to deliver the site. Providers may operate in other countries; applicable safeguards depend on the provider and your jurisdiction.
6. Security
Pages are delivered over HTTPS where supported, and the editor’s photo workflow is local to your browser. No security measure is perfect, so keep your browser and device updated and avoid using sensitive files on a device you do not control. If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will notify affected people and authorities when required by applicable law.
7. Retention
| Data | Retention | End of retention |
|---|---|---|
| Selected photos, previews, EXIF data | Only for the active browser session | Cleared when you clear the editor, close, or reload the page |
| GA4 cookies | Per Google’s default retention (typically 14 months, IP anonymized) | Deletion or anonymization under Google’s policy |
| Analytics and hosting logs | According to the relevant provider’s policy and operational need | Deletion or anonymization under that policy |
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can immediately delete locally processed files by clearing the editor or closing the page, and opt out of GA4 tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or browser cookie settings. For a request concerning provider logs or analytics data, use the support channel shown on the website. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
The service is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the site, use the website support channel so we can review the request.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. Material changes will be indicated on this page where reasonably practicable, and the date above will be updated. For privacy questions or rights requests, use the support channel presented on the Photo Timestamp website.
