A date overlay is text drawn into a new image. It stays visible when you share or print the JPEG, unlike EXIF metadata that some apps remove. Your source file remains unchanged.
Check the date before you overlay it
The editor reads EXIF dates when available. If a photo has no readable capture date, it uses the file time and labels that fallback. File time may be the date a copy was saved, so check it before exporting. Pro lets you correct the working date.
Choose the placement and format
Use a corner or a centered position, then adjust the margin. A dark translucent backing helps the white date stand out on light and dark areas. The preview uses the same drawing logic as the download.
